Journal gift bundle

£18.00

Bringing together 3 of my favourite items for connection with the seasons and nature: the Year in Herbs journal, a tin of healing herb-infused beeswax balm, and a beeswax candle - perfect for setting a moment aside to connect with ‘plants with purpose’.

I’ll wrap each item in tissue and tie it with ribbon to make a lovely nature-inspired giftable bundle.

  • The Journal introduces you to one healing plant per month, through recipes, remedies and reflections. The plants included are locally abundant or easy to identify and find. Local artist Kate Millbank created a linocut print for each month’s herb, a beautiful creative touchstone with the plants. The Journal is undated, so can be started any time throughout the year.

  • The beeswax balm is a skin-healing blend of infused oils, made into a salve with my bees’ wax. Combining Daisy (Bellis perennis) for bruising, Plantain (Plantago lanceolata) with it’s antihistamine for relieving itches & stings, and Nettle (Urtica dioica) as a soothing anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. These herbs are infused separately in organic cold-pressed sunflower oil then blended in equal ratios and made into a balm by melting in beeswax from my garden apiary. I add a few drops of naturally derived Vitamin E oil to increase the salve’s shelf-life, and some Lavender (Lavandula officinalis) essential oil for its soothing aroma.

  • The beeswax candle is 100% natural beeswax, so smells like the inside of a beehive! These are sourced from another Scottish beekeeper, and I love how these add to the mindful intention of this little bundle.

These gift bags are available for local collection only, or I can deliver in the North Berwick area. Please get in touch to arrange.

Time:

Our honey is harvested while hive-warm, around 30oC, by spinning it out of the frames. This leaves the majority of the wax in tact for the bees to reuse, and as our honey is never heat treated it maintains the natural proteins and enzymes contained in the honey. The honey is passed through a coarse filter to allow tiny particles of pollen and propolis to enter the honey. Crystalisation occurs in authentic honey: this is a normal process. To reinstate its smooth texture place in a warm spot but do not heat over 35oC as the honey's antimicrobial properties will be damaged.
