I love to talk!

Liz AKA The Honeybee Sanctuary is an experienced speaker, with a background in university lecturing at ECA / ESALA / Edinburgh University. As a landscape architect I taught on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes 2005 - 2021.

Aside from the varied events and workshops I have prepared content for and spoken at, I have enjoyed speaking engagements with:

  • ’How plants help us cope: Exploring Herbalism for Stress Recovery’
North Berwick High School Psychology Conference, October ‘25

  • Reiki x Remedies: My Story - talk and interactive workshop
    Fern Bothy, June ‘25

  • A Year in Herbs - sharing practices in seasonal herbalism
    Village Green Gatherings, May ‘25

  • A Year in Herbs
Night Owl Books, with Kate Millbank - co-delivered talk and workshop, April ‘25

  • Holistic approaches to home herbalism
Guest speaker on the Space to Think podcast, Dec ‘24

Liz gave a talk at the first East Lothian Council Higher Psychology Conference on 8th October 2025. Her talk focused on stress and the physical, mental and emotional effects that chronic stress can have, as well as herbal solutions to stress.

Her talk was relevant and engaging and gave both staff and pupils plenty of food for thought. Liz then led two “Make your own blend” workshops and the pupils were absolutely raving about this- the library smelt like a spa afterwards! Liz is a very talented speaker and I would highly recommend her.
— Rachel Garrett, Teacher of RMPS and Psychology, North Berwick High School

I am available for talks, event collaboration, workshops and podcasts; areas I talk on include:

  • Reiki & Remedies, a woven practice for holistic wellbeing.

  • Completing the Stress Cycle - how plants help us cope

  • Reiki and home herbalism for ADHD (or as I frame it, VAST - Variable Attention Stimulus Trait)

Liz was a guest speaker and the group absolutely loved her talk on seasonal herbalism. She made the subject feel accessible and easy to understand, while also keeping everyone engaged and answering some very in-depth questions with confidence and clarity. We left feeling inspired to go out foraging and try making our own herbal remedies.
