Reiki at The Honeybee Sanctuary

How and why does Reiki fit in with beekeeping, selling honey, and herbalism? Isn’t it all a bit mixed up?

Well yes it is! But the beauty is how these three strands weave so perfectly together: honey, herbs and healing, and this is my unique offer. When you come to The Honeybee Sanctuary, you get a the best of each of these: I am the grounding energy of the bees, I offer the medicine of the plants, and I unify it with the balancing system of Reiki.

You don’t even need to hang out with a bee, if you don’t want to! I hold this, for you.

When we look at the interconnectedness and interdependence of life, of energy flowing in and between every thing, we realise that it really is intertwined.

The honey amplifies the herbs,

The herbs catalyse the honey, and

The Reiki is a path to self healing with the energy of the honey and herbs woven in.

All of these activities, keeping bees, receiving Reiki, learning from herbs, centre around the idea of looking at creation. Just think, how often do we take the time to do that?

With honeybees, you must enter their space with stillness, respect and active listening or they will sting you into awareness, like a jikijitsu. A jikijitsu (直日) is the directing monk in charge of every movement of the monks coming to sit zazen in the zendo in a Japanese Zen monastery, and they are generally regarded as strict disciplinarians, an analogy I like… because the bees can be pretty blunt if you come with the wrong idea!

When you visit the hive without fear or greed and become fully present, the bees begin to trust you; then you are invited into their world. It is a realm of care, beauty, generosity, and community. I fill up my energy from these bees, with this intention, and I share it with clients because I can promise it’s not the bees that need saving, its us.

My clients say that if you are looking to find deep relaxation and aid the body to release stress and tension, improve your sleep, reduce your blood pressure, relieve pain, then the trio of honey, herbs, and reiki healing is ultimate.

With the winter days coming round we’re moving things inside, and I am looking forward to more in-person fireside Reiki treatments. If this is something for you, you can buy a session in the Shop.
