Kids' February break herbalism workshops

£15.00

I’m looking forward to some early signs of Spring at the February break kid’s herbalism workshops!

There are two workshops on offer this February break, at different times for two age groups: I hope you can join me for a session in the February break when we can learn about some of the late winter / early spring herbs in the garden, and find out about how nature can keep us feeling happy and well.

Friday 14th February: Spring is in the air
Using the freshest spring greens just popping up such as Nettle, Cleavers and Plantain to make a cordial drink to try and an anti-allergy antihistamine remedy (glycerine based tincture) which can be used by all the family.
10am - 11:30am, ages 4+
2pm - 3:30pm, ages 8+

Monday 17th February: Honeybees in the garden
No hives will be opened during this workshop; we will observe the bees going about their work outside the hive, learn about how they communicate and what they are doing in these late winter months, and make two herbal remedies with the honeybee’s gifts - a beeswax lipbalm and an electuary which is a combination of powdered herbs in honey.
10am - 11:30am, ages 4+
2pm - 3:30pm, ages 8+

As usual there will be things to taste, things to make and take home, and we’ll do something to give back to nature to say thank you!

Some of the workshops have suggested age bands, so we can explore at all the levels, but these aren’t set in stone. Just get in touch if you’re not sure or have any questions. Adults can choose to stay or drop off. Places are limited to 8 young people per session; please book a place for each sibling, to ensure adult-to-child ratios are met.

Please get in touch with any questions, and if there’s a few of you with a date in mind, just drop me an email at liz@thehoneybeesanctuary.org and we can plan a session together!
